In the year 1991, Luc Longley became part of Minnesota Timberwolves and this became his debut into the NBA league. He was later traded with Chicago Bulls during 1993 and this became the crucial period in his career. He performed very well at the center position and his team won three consecutive championships from 1996 till 1998. Luc is the first player to win NBA title from Australia.

In the next few  years, Longley suffered from injury problems and he had to undergo surgery on his left ankle. This slowed down his career for a short period. Luc took some time to recover and later became part of Phoenix Suns during 1997. After that, he was associated with New York Knicks during 2000.
