Jean Jungkook was born on September 1st 1997 in Mandeok-dong region of Busan, South Korea. His family was well to do and his father worked for SK Telecom while his mother was working for a real estate company. He began his practice in music at a young age and started learning various forms of music and dance from professional schools.
He did his primary education from Baekyang Elementary School in Busan. After that, his family sent him to Singu Middle School in Seoul for further education. Even while he was doing his gradutation in Seoul, he took part in various dance and music shows that exposed his talent to the music industry. He went to the US to learn professional dance and worked as a backup dancer for reputed groups. After being rejected from Superstar K, he had to wait for a year or so to get good opportunities.
He also co-performed songs with international artist Charkie Puth for the project We Dont Talk Anymore. Apart from that, he worked as a producer for the track Love is not Over and Magic Shop for the BTS Band. In 2015, he participated in the One Dream One Korea campaign along with other popular artists that was held in memory of the Korean War.
