Kellie Harrington first started boxing at the age of 15. She faced lot of difficulties in the initial stages as there were no specific training organizations for women. When she wanted to join a local boxing club, she was rejected as they trained only boys. However, she was successful in convincing them and later got admission into the club.
After that, she never looked back and impressed everyone with her skills. She participated in the Women’s European Union Boxing Championships in 2017 and won the silver medal in the lightweight category. In the same competition next year, she managed to secure the bronze medal and impressed everyone with her consistency.
In the Women’s World Boxing Championship that was held in 2016, she managed to get the silver medal in the light welter weight category. However, in the year 2018, she competed in the lightweight category and managed to get the gold medal in this tournament.
The big break for Kellie Harrington came with the 2020 Summer Olympics.
